Silk thread is a top quality string used for stringing and knotting pearl jewelry. Nylon thread is durable and does not stretch. Monofilament, jewelry string, is stiff and resembles the fishing lines. It is recommended that a 20 pound test be used for cheap jewelry.

For strictly seed bead work use the nymo threads or silamide strands that are wax twisted and threads. The versatile bead wire is coated. All of the strings or threads come in many colors and weights to coordinate with your beading jewelry projects. There are several string sizes. The smaller the numbers work best for seed beads.
